2019 Fast Pitch

On Tuesday, December 2, 2019, DISE hosted our 5th annual Fast Pitch presented by Lagardère Plus.

6 non-profit finalists and the Troy Aikman Foundation Fund at United Way Foundation of Metropolitan Dallas were honored with grants to fund the amazing work they are doing in the Dallas community.

  • Texas Scottish Rite Hospital received $20,000 to create custom prosthetic limbs to help young athletes participate as equals in sports activities with peers.

  • After-School All-Stars received $20,000 to support their full comprehensive after-school programs to keep at-risk Dallas youth safe and engaged during the "danger zone" hours of 3-6pm. Funding will provide a healthy snack, academic support, hands-on STEAM-learning, physical activity and academic enrichment.

  • Mental Health America of Greater Dallas received $15,000 to expand their anti-victimization program to 15-at risk schools. Schools are currently unable to provide the resources and trainings to teach children the skills to protect themselves from abuse and violence.

  • Equest received $15,000 to support their competition program which gives special needs clients the opportunity to experience being part of a team, the benefits of competition, and the joys of being part of the riding community.

  • New Friends New Life received $5,000 to support their Men's Advocacy Group which empowers boys on school sports teams to become leaders by modeling healthy attitudes towards girls and each other.

  • Children At Risk, Inc. received $5,000 to help with their awareness about the benefits of recess to school administrators and to help them implement sound recess policies.

After-School All-Stars also received an additional $5,000 through the People’s Choice Award. A big thank you to Illumination Fireworks for the confetti blast!
